Solar energy-based electricity generation and its use in different fields has become widespread in Turkey as well as in the world. Electricity is a need and a component of costs for commercial enterprises including marinas. The aim of this study is to carry out an investigation on supplying availability the electricity demand of a commercial marina via solar energy system. With this aim, a medium-sized commercial marina, where is in the region of Fethiye (Muğla), has been selected and its annual electricity demand has been determined. With a simulation using Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS), the appropriate PV system power for location of the marina have been determined. As a result of the calculations, it has been concluded that the annual electricity demand of the marina can be supplied by a PV system-based electricity production of 2.462.118 kWh/year, capacity of PV system is 1500 kW and panel inclination angel of PV modules is 31.7°. It has been considered that PV system can be used in yacht marinas both in the months of tourism season and other months.
