Göreme Milli Parkı ve Kapadokya Kayalık Bölgeleri’ndeki Ziyaretçi Etki Yönetimi Uygulamalarının Yerli Ziyaretçiler Tarafından Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Turizm sektörünün gelişmesi ve turizme katılan kişilerin artmasıyla özellikle ziyaretçiler tarafından korunan alanlara yönelik talep de artmaktadır. Ziyaretçiler tarafından gerçekleştirilen geziler ve rekreasyonel etkinlikler esnasında bilinçli ya da farkında olmadan alana verilen zarar, geri dönüşü olmayan tahribatlara neden olabilmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Göreme Millî Parkı ve Kapadokya Kayalık Bölgeleri’nde yürütülen ziyaretçi etki yönetimi uygulamalarının yerli ziyaretçiler tarafından değerlendirilmesidir. Bu bağlamda, Türkiye’nin en çok ziyaretçi çeken bölgelerinden birisi olan Kapadokya’ya ilişkin ziyaretçi yönetiminin iyileştirilmesi ve bu haliyle ziyaretçi deneyimlerinin oluşturulmasına yönelik önerilerin sunulması planlanmaktadır. Veriler, 2019 yılında Göreme’yi gezen yerli ziyaretçilerden anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Toplam 169 kullanılabilir anket elde edilmiş ve verilerin ortalama ve standart sapma değerleri alınarak tablolaştırılmıştır. Milli parkın kontrolü, güvenliği ve parka yönelik bilgilendirmenin eksikliği anket sonuçlarından çıkan temel sorunlar/eksiklikler olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, ziyaretçi yönetimindeki sorunlara çözüm önerileri ile son bulmaktadır.

Evaluation of Visitor Management Practices in Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia by Local Visitors

Abstract

With the development of the tourism sector and the increase in the number of people participating in tourism, the demand for protected areas, especially by visitors, is also increasing. Damaging the area, consciously or unintentionally, during excursions and recreational activities carried out by visitors can cause irreversible damage. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the visitor management practices carried out in Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia by local visitors. In this context, it is planned to present suggestions for improving visitor management and creating visitor experiences in Cappadocia, one of the most visited regions of Turkey. The data were collected through a survey from local visitors visiting Göreme in 2019. A total of 169 usable questionnaires were obtained and tabulated by taking the mean and standard deviation values of the data. The control and security of the region and the lack of information about the park were also identified as the main problems/deficiencies that emerged from the survey results. The research ends with suggestions for solutions to the problems in visitor management.
