Gallipoli is one of the few regions in the world that has been at the crossroads of different cultures throughout history. Its spatial and cultural development in the historical process; Owing to being a bridge between Asia and Europe, having a sheltered port and being an important naval base in the passage from the Bosphorus to the Marmara, Gallipoli is very important in terms of fishing products production due to its shores to the Marmara and Aegean Seas. The first thing that comes to mind when talking about fish in Gallipoli is sardines, and when sardines are mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is canned fish. Products such as salted fish, oily-salted, fried sardines and lacquer, kipper and anchovies are the iconic fish products produced in Gallipoli. However, the production of fisheries and processed fish products has come to a standstill due to the recent economic crises and climatic changes. The tradition of fishing in Gallipoli should not be allowed to disappear, and support activities should be carried out by institutions.
